News: Mater Ecclesiae Preparatory School is the best

Matter Ecclesiae Preparatory School at Sokode-Gbogame in the Ho Municipality has won the second edition of the Glucose Academy Quiz held for eight junior high schools (JHSs) within the Sokode enclave.

New Seed International School came second and Sokode Lokoe MA JHS placed third.

The other participating schools were Sokode-Ando MA JHS; Sokode-Bagble MA JHS; Sokode-Etoe MA JHS; Eli International School and New Seed International School.

The competition was based on their knowledge in Science, Mathematics, English, Social Studies and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

It was organized by the Sokode-Based Glucose Academy, a non-governmental organization, and supported by MTN Ghana and Multi-Pro Limited.

Quality education

The President of Glucose Academy, Hans-Francis Awudey, said the annual competition was meant to broaden the scope of children and help shape them through quality education.

He gave an assurance that the program would be sustained.

The quiz master who was the Examinations Coordinator of the Ho Municipal Directorate of Education, Mr Fridoline Collins Dedume, urged the children to study diligently to get a bright future.

Mr Dedume said the enthusiasm of the children towards the competition was encouraging.

Additional schools that took part included Sokode-Ando MA JHS, Sokode-Bagble MA JHS, Sokode-Etoe MA JHS, along with Eli International School and New Seed International School. The contest tested students’ proficiency in subjects such as Science, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The event was spearheaded by Glucose Academy, a local NGO in Sokode, with backing from corporate sponsors MTN Ghana and Multi-Pro Limited. Emphasizing the importance of educational excellence, Glucose Academy’s President, Hans-Francis Awudey, remarked that the yearly contest aims to expand the horizons of the youth and foster their development through a commitment to quality education.
